congratulations

hey dudes

two great local bands that we've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with, Annabel and The Promise Hero, have been recognized as part of the The Absolute 100 in 2008 on AbsolutePunk.net. we love it when good bands from our area get recognized on a wider scale so we just wanted to say CONGRATS to both these bands and to keep doin' the damn thing.

new song omigodicantwaaaaaaaaaait

hey dudes, it's BRIAN! how are you today?

enough small talk

we posted a live, acoustic rendition of a new track on our myspace page today. it's called 'nine month calendar' and, in my opinion, it's one of the best things we've written. there will be a full band version on the record we just finished, but this should be a little nice teaser.

on another note, i'm sorry i haven't been keeping up with this as much. i will make sure you keep you guys all updated and informed.

love all of you,
brian

Interview Part II

RJ- Lets get back to Casey. How was it recording with him?

Ben- He was a goof.

Brian- I don't care how much anyone wants to fellate Casey for being a prog rock story telling god, the man's true talent is being fucking hilarious.

Ben- I felt like he was Wayne and Andy was Garth.

Aaron- Casey reminded me of the god Zeus, when he spoke it was like he was spitting lightning bolts.

Brian- He's just a really dynamic individual. He's not really the type of person you can ever relax around, but in a good way. You're always on your toes and I think that definitely helped us work hard.

RJ- Any funny stories he wouldn't mind you telling?

Brian- Well there's the Tim and Eric part...

RJ- The tv show?

Brian- Casey does an extremely accurate impression of Dr. Steve Brule (John C. Reilly) from Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job on Adult Swim. He did it the first day and it became a point of humor at least once an hour for the rest of the trip. Whether it was trying to get Casey to do it again or Jeff (Drums) and Mike attempting to impersonate him and failing.

Ben- I was recoridng a part once and after a take I was like "Yeah I don't think I've really got it all the way quite right." And he says "Listen, I don't really care. How about you just play your fucking part." Everyone laughed but me...

RJ- Kidding of course...

Ben- NO... haha yes.

Brian- I also enjoyed when Mike was recording vocals... Casey: "That was flat, do it again." Mike: "Yeah I don't really know whats happening... I mean I guess it's just because-" Casey: "Yeah, I didn't mean for you to delve into the reasoning behind it, I just wanted you to do it again."

Brian- He's a very no-bullshit guy but the mood always stays pretty light.

Brian- It was also nice when the rest of The Dear Hunter came in at various points, except for Sagan (Bass). Nick (Drums) was in a few days, Erick (Guitar) hung out all day once.

RJ- Is Erick really like the way he writes on the internet?

Brian- Pretty much.

Ben- Does he write with exclamations?

RJ- He writes like this... YOOOOOOOO DUDES!!!! NEW DEAR HUNTER ALBUM COMING SOON!!!! WORD? WOOOOOOOORD!!!!!!

*All three laugh*

RJ- Now it's time for the speed round of random questions.

Aaron- Yes, lightnight round!

RJ- 3 bands you would want to tour with-

Aaron- Deerhunter, The Teenagers, The Blow

Ben- Los Campesinos!, Le Loup, Plastic Mastery (3 languages)

Brian- The Dear Hunter, The Weakerthans, and Tokyo Police Club

RJ- Last album you heard and loved-

Aaron- Deerhunter- Microcastle

RJ- Are you gonna be that guy that names the same band for every question?
Brian- Yes

Ben- "This Is Our Punk-Rock, These Rusted Satellites Gather + Sing" by A Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band With Choir

Brian- Untitled by Dance Gavin Dance

RJ- Favorite movie when you were 16-

Ben- Rushmore

Brian- Same as it is now, Return Of The Jedi

Aaron- Memento

RJ- Indians or Cavs-

Aaron- Cavs

Ben- Indifferent!

Brian- Both piss me off, but Cliff Lee is doing well so the Indians will have to do.

Aaron- HHH loves the Cavs.

RJ- Alright last one.

Ben- 2 More!!!

RJ- Just for you...
RJ- Favorite website-

Brian- I would say lakeandtheriver.com, but there are way too many stupid people there. So I'm going to say pitchforkmedia.com, lifehacker.com, and gawker.com

Ben- icanhascheezburger. and pitchfork, yeah. And last.fm before they redid the layout.

Brian- Yeah, Jesus, fuck the new last.fm.

RJ- Everyone hates the new layout.

Aaron- This

RJ- That's amazing.... I can't think of a last question.

Brian- How about what is our favorite thing about the other 2?

Aaron- Yeah!

RJ- Fine with me.

Ben- Let's see: Aaron- his pedalboard. Brian- his Nike shoes

Brian- My favorite thing about Ben is his individuality and my favorite thing about Aaron is his dedication to stuff he loves.

Aaron- My favorite thing about Ben is that he is into real good movies and music and he shares them, and my favorite thing about Brian is that he is real into moving this music thing forward, plus he makes me laugh over 9000 times a day.

RJ- Any last words?

Aaron- Achilos!

Brian- Desk lamp

Ben- Thank you RJ.

Brian- Yeah thanks RJ, thanks anyone who reads this, thanks to our shareholdaz.

RJ- Thanks guys, good luck with the new album.
